Part of the Scottish Government’s Environment & Forestry Directorate, Forestry Commission Scotland manages, sustains and enhances Scotland’s 660,000ha national forest estate to deliver benefits to people, communities, biodiversity and the economy.

FCS is the biggest land manager in Scotland (caring for 6% of the land across the country) and its work includes ensuring the supply of high quality timber, nature conservation, habitat improvement, wildlife management (including reintroduction programmes) and maintaining a host of leisure, recreation and tourism resources both for local residents and for visitors.
